Engineering Drawings -
3 Dimensional CAD Models -

I currently rely on two CAD programs to assist in component design. AutoCad® is very reliable for producing 2D drawings. Most Plastic Components are now designed in 3D. By utilizing INVENTOR® the 3D rendering can be viewed on a computer monitor in many different views. The image can be rotated to show all sides of the part, colors and shading can be used to show different surfaces. The 3D view allows the client to view the model as an animation prior to manufacturing, thus allowing for any cosmetic changes to be discussed or implemented. The 3D file can then be used to cut manufacturing cost since the data can then be fed into CAM (Computer Aided Machine) to create stereolithography models or tool paths for molds.
